Verkada WH32 Wireless Repeater
Verkada WH32 Wireless Repeater
Cloud-managed VLink wireless repeater and hub for extending Verkada wireless alarm sensor coverage across larger or difficult-to-wire sites.
The Verkada WH32 Wireless Repeater is designed to help organizations extend wireless alarm coverage into areas where Verkada sensors have weak signal or where running new cabling would be difficult. In repeater mode, the WH32 automatically pairs with a nearby Verkada VLink hub and amplifies its signal, helping close coverage gaps across larger buildings, retail spaces, warehouses, schools, offices, and multi-site alarm deployments.
The WH32 can also operate as a VLink hub when connected to a Verkada alarm panel through RS485. In hub mode, it supports up to 160 Verkada wireless sensors, giving organizations another way to reuse existing alarm wiring or extend wireless coverage from a more strategic location. Verkada describes the WH32 as a DC-powered VLink repeater that can extend the range of an existing VLink hub, including the BP32 panel, BP52 panel, BE32 expander, BK22 keypad, or WH52 wireless hub.
Key Features
- Wireless Repeater Mode: Extends coverage from an existing VLink hub to reach areas with weak wireless signal.
- Wireless Hub Mode: Operates as a VLink hub when wired to a Verkada alarm panel through RS485.
- Supports Up to 160 Sensors: In hub mode, the WH32 supports up to 160 Verkada wireless sensors.
- Coverage Gap Solution: Helps reach areas where Ethernet, RS485, or alarm cabling is unavailable, expensive, or impractical.
- Automatic Hub Pairing: In repeater mode, the WH32 automatically connects to the nearest compatible VLink hub.
- Built-In Battery Backup: Internal 1200 mAh battery provides up to 24 hours of backup with typical use.
- Cloud-Managed in Command: View live and historical sensor activity, connection quality, battery level, and device status from Verkada Command.
- Local Alarm Communication: Designed to communicate locally with other alarm devices, helping maintain alarm functionality during certain outage scenarios.
- Flexible Mounting: Supports wall or ceiling mounting depending on the installation environment.
- Part of Verkada’s VLink Ecosystem: Works with compatible Verkada alarm devices, including BP32, BP52, BE32, BK22, WH52, and WH32 in hub mode.
Close Wireless Coverage Gaps
The WH32 is built for alarm deployments where wireless sensors need to reach beyond the practical coverage area of the main panel, keypad, expander, or wireless hub. In larger facilities, signal can be weakened by distance, walls, equipment, shelving, mechanical rooms, or building materials. Rather than running new cabling or relocating alarm infrastructure, teams can place the WH32 within range of an existing VLink hub to help extend coverage into the target area.
Verkada recommends using the WH32 in areas that need sensor coverage but suffer from weak signal, such as RSSI of -80 dBm or less. The WH32 should be placed within range of an existing compatible VLink hub and positioned to improve coverage for the desired sensor area.
Repeater or Hub, Depending on the Site
The WH32 supports two deployment modes. In repeater mode, it is DC-powered and extends the signal from an existing VLink hub. This is useful when the site already has a compatible hub nearby but needs better coverage farther away. Verkada recommends no more than six WH32 repeaters per hub, and the repeater must remain within range of the hub it is extending.
In hub mode, the WH32 connects directly to an alarm panel via RS485 and operates as a VLink hub. This can be useful when an organization has existing alarm wiring that can be reused, or when the best wireless coverage point is reachable through RS485 rather than Ethernet.
Cloud-Managed Through Verkada Command
As part of the Verkada alarm ecosystem, the WH32 is managed through Verkada Command. Teams can view live and historical sensor activity, connection quality, battery level, and device status remotely. This helps administrators diagnose wireless coverage issues, confirm sensor performance, and manage alarm deployments across one site or many without relying only on local troubleshooting.
