INOGENI 4KX-PLUS 4K HDMI-to-USB Camera Converter
Use the INOGENI 4KX-PLUS to bring an HDMI camera, presentation source, or other unprotected HDMI feed into a USB-based meeting, capture, or BYOM workflow. It converts HDMI to UVC USB video so the connected source can be selected by supported conferencing and video software as a camera.
It is a strong fit for conference rooms using USB passthrough, especially Webex BYOM deployments, and for installations that need an HDMI loop output for a local display. Plan for the HDMI source, host computer or room-device USB workflow, and required HDMI cabling. USB 3.0 is recommended for uncompressed video; USB 2.0 operation uses MJPEG. The 4KX-PLUS does not decrypt HDCP-protected content.

Licensing, Warranty & Support
No INOGENI hardware subscription, cloud-management subscription, or product license is required. In applicable Webex BYOM workflows, this approach can avoid additional Cloud Video Interop and user-management fees; confirm any customer-specific conferencing-platform, room-system, or user licensing separately. INOGENI provides a limited 5-year warranty for products purchased by an end user after August 1, 2024; products purchased before that date carry a 2-year warranty. Included USB cables carry a 2-year warranty. Firmware, release notes, guides, compatibility resources, and support-ticket access are available from INOGENI.

Common Questions
Does the 4KX-PLUS need a driver?
No. It operates without driver installation on supported Windows, macOS, and Linux systems.
Can it work with a USB 2.0 host?
Yes. USB 2.0 operation uses MJPEG, while USB 3.0 is recommended when uncompressed video is required.
Will it capture protected HDMI content?
No. The 4KX-PLUS does not decrypt BD/DVD, satellite or cable receiver, or other encrypted HDMI sources.
Is an external power supply included, and why is it useful?
Yes. The package includes a 5 V/1 A power supply with international adapters. In a Webex deployment, external power can maintain the connection between the CODEC and a second display when a laptop is not connected.
Is a Cisco CVI or INOGENI cloud subscription required?
No INOGENI cloud subscription is required. For Webex BYOM, the 4KX-PLUS can support an approach that avoids additional CVI and user-management fees, but your specific Webex, Zoom, Teams, or room-system licensing should be validated before deployment.
